Farrer Place External Works

PROJECT VALUE

$1,000,000

DURATION

October 2021 – July 2022

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The project is situated within the existing NSW Department of Education Building. It involves the design and construction of a new six-star hotel covering a floor area of 21,000 square metres. The scope includes refurbishment of internal spaces, tunnelling beneath Loftus Street to create a new building connection, construction of new elements atop the existing structures, and upgrades to external areas including Farrer Place.

SCOPE OF WORKS

Carrabay has been engaged to undertake the formwork, reinforcement, and concrete pouring (FRP) works. This includes supplying reinforcement for the external hard landscaping around Farrer Place within the Sydney CBD.

Given the heritage-sensitive nature of the area, careful planning and staging have been implemented to ensure construction activities do not impact surrounding spaces. Detailed logistics, traffic management, and on-site storage are managed daily in close collaboration with the client. Carrabay has received commendations for the professionalism demonstrated throughout the project to date.
